Abnormal 95-tonne load from Carinthia to Spain
Thus SCHENKER Logistics cooperated with our company on a special project. For us the contract consisted in delivering a colossal air purification reactor for industrial plant construction from Carinthia to Spain. The load alone was 15 metres long, 5.20 metres wide and 3.85 metres high and weighed in at a whopping 50 tonnes. Vehicle and load together i.e. 4-axle truck, semi-trailer with 2-axle dolly and 4-axle aggregate trailer including 4.5 metre extension trailer was as much as 34 metres long, 4.40 metres high and came to an impressive 95 tonnes.
Half way across Europe
This enormous heavy load went from Carinthia, Styria, Upper Austria, Germany and France to its destination Tarragona in Spain. One of the biggest challenges in this was that in France only main trunk roads could be used where there were of course a lot of narrow points to be overcome that required some special authorisations.
Our clever specialists carried out their task with expertise, enthusiasm and particular logistic know-how in about two weeks in mainly night runs. Expertly and with the highest precision all obstacles were overcome.
